The parable of "Tasha's last name was COVID, and her death counted for something"
We can’t go back in time literally, like Tasha did, but we can take her spirit with us going forward…and exemplify some of her courage.
Tasha willingly went back in time, knowing she would die in a hopeless battle protecting her enemies the Klingons from other Federation enemies the Romulans. But she knew the Enterprise-C’s hopeless battle would impress the warrior Klingons in the future, which would lead to a peace treaty with the “honorable” Federation, and this sacrificial act, dying for her enemies, would prevent a massive future war with the Klingon Empire, saving many lives.
So, she went to die…but actually she didn’t die in the battle, as later episodes revealed. Would you do the same? Volunteer to die “for the greater good” rather than be dictated to die “for the greater good” (in the episode, it was called Enterprise-C NOT Enterprise C-19)?
But in the end, you don’t even die anyway, like Tasha didn’t die, but rather you live. “Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.” (Luke 17:33, KJV)
