Hello once again, this is JLL coming at you with Gnostic Intel on the internet. It's the 9th of May 2017, this is installment 36 and the title is “Wheat Shock, Mystic Trance of the Mysteries”.
Those of you have been following this investigation in continuity will know that I began with decoding the name of the phenomenon we're investigating. That in itself represents somewhat novel point of departure. As far as I know, others who are investigating the Mandela effect and posting comments about it, in some cases posting two, three, four hour conversations about it, well, as far as I know, they're not considering that the person after whom the effect is named could be of any significance to the phenomenon, to its origin and purpose, to the message it contains, if it indeed it does contain a message.
So that's a novel approach that I'm taking here on this channel and I'm going to return to that set of clues which I call the nominative set, because they derive from the name Nelson Mandela. The implication being, of course, that the achievements of Nelson Mandela are somehow significant and meaningful and important from the point of view of the source of the Mandela effect. So, I will return to the Mandela narrative, believe me, pretty soon and I will present some consummating reflections on the significance of that person, that historical individual and his life and legacy.
But for now, I want to direct your attention to the online resource that I used, which is the lungenshite dot com German-English dictionary. Now I don’t know if this is merely an online translation service dictionary or if it is the online version of an actual printed dictionary. It looks pretty legitimate to me. I accept that if it is an online translation tool, then some of the information it presents may not be so reliable. I would prefer that it was a hard copy that I had in hand. That is not the case. However, I am assuming that you would find this same set of definitions in hard copy somewhere in a German-English dictionary.
So what you have when you go and look at the definitions of the German word Mandel are seven different definitions. Amazingly, I have the printout right here in front of me. One of those seven definitions is a verb form, meaning to shock. I'll return to that in a moment. The other six are nouns which mean 1. A set of fifteen or a larger set of fifteen which actually amounts to sixteen, a gosa mandel. 2. A shock of wheat or a stook of sheaves of wheat or grain. 3. An almond. 4. Tonsils. 5. The amygdala in the human brain. And 6. A geode.
So what I've done to begin the decoding of the Mandela effect is a very simple grammatical exercise that every child learns in the beginning of their education. What is a verb? What is a noun? How do you combine verbs and nouns? So, I combine these six nouns with a verb to shock. And what you then have is the shock of the almond, the shock of the amygdala, the shock of the geode, and so forth. This is the simple kindergarten level exercise I propose to initiate the decoding of the Mandela effect. How do you like that?
Now so far we've only considered the shock of the almond and the shock of the amygdala. Shock of the almond decodes into the recognition of the telluric matrix of the powers of the earth itself. The origin of the Mandela effect points to itself through the signal of the almond, the vessica pieces, the Mandola, the shape of the female sexual organs universally recognized as a symbol of the power of the Great Mother, the Earth herself. The message of the almond Shock is that the Mandela effect is coming from the Earth.
Second point. The source of the signals, the source of the phenomenon, urgently wants you to know certain things. Imagine all the things that she or it, if you prefer to consider the telluric matrix as the psi field, PSI, plenary sovereign intelligence, however you like, or as the Aeonic Mother, the Earth Mother, as you like. Either way, can you imagine all the things that she or it would be able to say to you and to the human species at this moment? And how does she choose the imperative topic?
Well apparently, the imperative topic that she puts in your head is information about what's happening in your head. And so, the shock of the amygdala is a signal alerting you to Toxoplasmosis, which is an infection, a parasitical infection of the human brain, about which I have quite a bit more to say. Well, that leaves four more nouns to be combined with the verb shock, and today I'm going to decode the shock of wheat. But before I proceed to do that, I want to make a couple of remarks about the German language and about the liberties that I am taking with German grammar, in order to demonstrate how absolutely fucking tedious I can be, which characteristic, of course, is another aspect of my boundless and bottomless self-importance.
I want to bring to your attention the fact that a couple of people have written questioning the verbal form in the array of definitions of Mandel, English definitions of the German word. And in particular, a couple of people have raised doubts, questions in a kind and civil manner. They haven't shot me down or debunked me, but they've questioned the verb form, which sounds like this. In London, Saxon.
So I've been told that this expression is in some respects perhaps questionable or not legitimate German grammar. Now I've put that question out to a couple of native German speakers on the PT team out there somewhere across the world and I'll report back to you on what they say. But for the moment, I'm going with the notion that the Schock verb works in combination with these nouns.
Also, I'd like to point out that on the tracking page that goes along with this talk, if you scroll down, there's quite a bit of material on the page, heavy text and images. If you go down, you'll find that I've presented a screenshot of that online dictionary, and there you see the odd word stook associated with the word shock. And the definition of stook in English is, as a noun, a number of sheaves set upright in a field to dry with their heads together. Obviously, for these sheaves to stand in that manner, they have to have been cut off and properly bundled so they will stand on their cut ends together. Bear that image in mind. It comes up later in this talk.
And finally, before cutting to the chase, I'd just like to address a question which certainly comes up in your mind now and then, and that's forms itself in this way. What's with this German bit? Do I have German on the brain? Does the source of the Mandela effect, you know, have a thing for German and Germans? Well it appears to be the case, oddly. Quite often in the wordplay of the Mandela signals, German plays an outstanding role, and German translations, such as Bernstein being Amber, are pretty damn convincing.
Now there is other wordplay operating in the signals coming through this phenomenon. As we'll see there is a Sanskrit word play, there's even a little Tibetan word play, and Greek and Latin. So what do all these languages have in common? Excuse me, but they all belong to the PIE group or are derived from PIE roots, meaning Proto-Indo-European. So Sanskrit and Greek have been shown from the time of, what was his name, Sir William Jones, around what, 1700, 1750? Sir William Jones was an Englishman who first observed, or to my knowledge, was the first on record to have observed certain parallels between Sanskrit and Greek languages, and that observation led to comparative studies and the so-called science of philology, which is now dead, I believe, but the science of philology and comparative linguistics.
It's interesting that a couple of individuals who were tremendously influential in defining comparative linguistics, following the lead of Sir William Jones and others, identifying PIE roots such as wid whiz wit. Where are the Grimm brothers? Germans on the brain. Those evil Germans. They seem to play into the Mandela effect in an uncanny and perhaps objectionable manner to some people. I don’t know. After all, Germans, I mean, come on, aren't they the most evil people in the world? Didn't they commit the worst crime against humanity on record? Or at least their Führer did, and the Nazi Party did, and of course all the German people today have to be held responsible for that, don't they? And made to pay through the nose, don't they?
So, this is a bit bothersome topic, and yet, hmm, with this emphasis on Germans, those evil Germans, and the German language coming up again and again in the decoding of the Mandela Effect, well, fuck me with a figure skater. Better just stop and take a look at what's happening. A good detective just follows the evidence, and the evidence continues to bring up, or to reveal, a kind of German bias.
Grimm Brothers around 1820 not only defined the law of consonantal shift, which is a fundamental principle of comparative linguistics. For instance, the same IE root appears with a shifted consonant in different words. Wit, wid, with. You see? T, D, Z, the consonants shift, don't they? Vid, which is i-e root, is also found in English words as well as in the Sanskrit word vidya, which means wisdom and is synonymous with the name Sophia. So, Sophia is vidya. Gnosis is related to, which is a Greek word, the Sanskrit word jnana, J-N-A. The G becomes a J. This is consonantal shift.
And the Grimm brothers who discovered that, well, those studious Germans, are also a source of one of the most staggering Mandela effects. And that is the legend of Snow White and the shifted line. Mirror, mirror on the wall, magic mirror on the wall. Well, there you go. I'm just a detective, just the facts, ma'am, just the facts, and those are the facts. So, whatever the reason for the source of the Mandela Effect bringing your attention preponderantly to the German language and Germans, it shall be revealed in the course of this investigation. So on we go.
So I ask you now to look with me at the English translation of Mandel, which presents the concept of a stook of sheaves cut grain standing on end in a field. Picture that, picture that, keep that picture in your mind and let's see where that clue, which is both a verbal clue in the dictionary, a word clue, and an image clue. Let's see where it takes us.
At some point in every criminal investigation, and it's usually a critical moment, the detectives on the team have to stop and ask a question that goes something like this. Well, here we have a clue that's true, it's not planted, it's not faked, it's not spurious. And we also have a narrative going on, we're building up a narrative or a plot of what happened. We're building up a picture of the crime that was committed so that we can fit the clues into the picture and thereby generate a proof process that leads to a solution. This is how you use your probative faculty.
Well, we're at that point right now, and so the question could be put in this way: well what does the verbal and visual clue of cut grain standing in a field refer to in some plot that is connected to the plot behind the Mandela effect? Well, I already told you at the beginning of this investigation that the Gnostic materials surviving from ancient times contain the plot and the reference base for what is happening in the Mandela effect. And so it would be, if that's true, then let's prove it. Want to see me prove it?
Well, we would have to go to the Gnostic sources. Remember I said that there were five aspects of the Gnostic material to which we shall refer in the course of this investigation. I had to break off there for a moment to go find it. It wasn't easy by the way. Believe me you have my deepest sympathies. But there it is toward the end of tracking page number one, “the clues to be investigated in the Mandela effect require reference to the Gnostic codebook or body of Gnostic teachings derived from the mysteries. And this body of material consists of five components. One, the sacred narrative or the fallen goddess scenario. Two, the Nag Hammadi Coptic books and related ancient works in Greek and Latin. Three, a set of instructions for ritual bonding with the earth, which is a Gnostic practice today. Four, an icon, the shakti cluster, which is a variation of the vessica almond icon, an archetypal symbol of the divine feminine. And lastly, the program and practice of Gaian shamanism, which is the form of Gnosticism in modern times, also called planetary tantra.
Now of those five components, the first two are taken from ancient materials, and so I can always cite ancient materials and ancient sources, as I'll do in a moment, when drawing upon the Gnostic background. The other three components represent the upscaling and updating of Gnosticism and the Mystery School practices and teachings for today. And so, although they are of modern provenance, the other three components to which I will refer more and more as time goes by, although they are of modern provenance, they are a true and consistent reflection of Gnosticism and Mystery School teachings and practices from the remote past. Okay, good enough. At least I would think that's good enough.
So, where do we look among those five components for some significant content that will elucidate the significance of this clue? Well, so happens that the practices of the mysteries and the experiences undergone in the inner sanctum of the mystery cells were never disclosed outwardly. Did you know that? It also so happens that honest scholars today like George Mylanos who writes about the Eleusinian mysteries admits that scholars such as himself as expert as they may be in all the evidence, archaeological, textual, everything, they can only speculate about what happened because the mysteries were protected by a vow of silence taken by the initiates or the teleste.
So you might think, well if we're going to go back into the ancient materials of the mysteries, I guess we're not going to come up with much of anything because it was a closed-mouth affair. That's actually what mystery means. It derives from the Greek verb myrene, which means to speak through compressed lips or to murmur only, to murmur as you might murmur in a moment of intimate love or intimate sexual pleasure. Now this vow of silence was observed with great reverence and consistency over many generations, over many centuries actually.
But there does appear in the ancient record some glints and glimpses, some tiny little flickers of disclosure, about what happened in the mysteries. I once estimated that you could write down the disclosures that you find in ancient texts such as the writings of Cicero, the Roman orator, or among the books attributed to the heresy hunters such as Irenaeus and Hippolytus who reported on certain practices of the Gnostics. You could gather all that up and probably write it on a sheet and a half of A4 typing paper easily.
But there is among those clues and glimpses that came out of the mysteries that survived, there is one that is paramount. It is outstanding. It could be said to be the single most vivid clue to what happened in the experiences of these initiates in the mystery cells. The single most vivid and revealing clue. And where do you find that clue? Well, find it in the writings of the heresy hunter Hippolytus, who lived around 170 or 200 CE.
And I quote from Not in His Image, “Hippolytus reported a striking eyewitness detail from the mysteries that has baffled scholars through the ages. At the moment the initiates emerged from their encounter with the mystery light, the hierophant who led the ceremony showed them, ‘a sheath of cut wheat’.
“According to Hippolytus, in the refutation of all heresies, this action, the hierophant holding up a sheath of cut wheat was considered to be, ‘the great and marvelous mystery of the ultimate revelation’.”
Now I ask you, if the mysteries of the ancient world of the true Gnostics, the non-Christian, Sethian Gnostics and other sects as well were non-Christian, non- and anti-Christian, non-Jewish and anti-Jewish, if those sects which had a millennial duration in the Middle East and around the Mediterranean Basin were dedicated to the sublime presence of Sophia and that same goddess wants to reach humanity now with a message of regeneration and liberation. What do you say about her leaking to us through the Mandela effect, a clue that points directly to the heart of the mystery ceremonies that were dedicated to her. What do you say about that? Is that humbling? Does that catch your attention? Is that just a little bit bit impressive?
Well, whatever the case, I can't see your face. I can't read your body and read your reaction as you hear these words. But I can tell you that that is absolutely and totally true and it is the pristine truth. You can't make it up any better than this. The ultimate gesture of revelation and initiation in the mysteries was to hold up a sheaf of cut wheat. This action was a shock to the initiates who were already in a state of shock, who were already in a trance. How do I know that? Well, let's continue to pursue this clue.
There is a second clue that might be put almost at the same level of this disclosure in Hippolytus. It has been cited many, many times and it is known as the fragment of Themistios, and it goes like this, “The soul at the point of death has the same experience as those who are being initiated into the mysteries. One is struck with a marvelous light”.
Now you see this famous fragment of Themistios mentions a light, a marvelous light, and the short paragraph citing Hippolytus refers to initiates emerging from an encounter with the mystery light. What is this mystery light? What is this marvelous light of the mysteries? It so happens that the vow of silence regarding that light was observed rigorously and carefully in this particular way. There were some instances of which about half a dozen survive in which someone who had been initiated into the mysteries of the Gnostic schools dedicated to the goddess Sophia spoke of a light.
They said they saw a light. They said it was marvelous, magical, sublime, beautiful beyond words. And that might be considered, in a way, as violating the vow of silence, but not really, because you see, the vow of silence did not concern the admission of having seen a mystical and marvelous light, not that as such. It concerned giving a description of the properties of that light.
So even though the information about a light leaked out of the mysteries, no one, and I mean no one, ever came out publicly and disclosed the properties, the action, the feeling, the sound, the look, the behavior, the texture, the temperature of that light. Because the description of its properties and how that light, how that luminosity interacted with its human witnesses was to those Gnostics the most sacred thing in the world and they protected that sacredness by a vow not of secrecy but of silence and only in the 20th century, no, no, the dawn of the 21st century did it come to pass that that vow of silence was overturned. It was not violated, but it was overturned.
And since that moment, it is possible for the world at large to know in graphic and exquisite detail about the nature and behavior of that mysterious light, which I have named the organic light. Do you hear that? Background sound? That's thunder rolling over the hills of Galicia. Now, if you can allow this, if you can allow yourself to hold in your mind the disclosure that I'm making to you right now, then it might occur to you to ask this question as well. Well this sounds like the ultimate experience of “seeing light”, and it sounds like something truly sublime, profound, transcendental, definitely could be considered the ultimate mystical experience accessible to human beings.
And if that is the case, then one is bound to wonder, well, how did they get to have that experience? How did they get to see that light and to know its properties of which they never spoke and to even interact with that light and learn from contact with that light? How did the initiates at Iliusis and elsewhere in the Near East, in the Levant, around the Mediterranean Basin and stretching as well into the other areas of Europe, into Iberia, to France, to Scandinavia, to the British Isles, how did the initiates who belong to the vast and widespread network of the mysteries in all these parts of Europe attain that mysterious and sublime encounter? Well, the answer to that is in the graphic part of the clue we're looking at.
On the tracking page you see a photograph of the ruins of Eleusis, and there you see on a broken pediment that remains and has been partially restored, two rosettes, and to the left of those rosettes, what do you see? A sheaf of cut wheat. There's your evidence. Look at it. Go to the Gnostic Gallery. There's a link provided. The Gnostic gallery on metahistory.org and read the quote from Not in His Image and look at the enlargement and the color version of what is engraved on the pediment at Eleusis. Could it be any more vivid? Could it be any more obvious? There it is in plain site, wheat shock, the sheaf of cut wheat at Eleusis, which was the source of the state of mind that allowed the initiates to access the mystery light, the organic light.
Gnosis is cognitive ecstasy. That means it is a state of knowing and attending to the natural world in which you see and learn things that you cannot learn in an ordinary state. Gnosis is non-ordinary knowledge. Historians today all agree that even though we cannot ultimately know what happened in the mysteries from any surviving records, we do know that the initiates underwent a trance state induced by the ingestion of a psychoactive brew called the kykeon in Greek, k-y-k-e-o-n. The kykeon was a brew drunk by the initiates that allowed them to enter into non-ordinary knowing, what Carlos Castaneda called heightened awareness, and in that state of ecstasy, full body ecstasy with their eyes open, looking at the natural world, they saw the radiance of the organic light streaming through the material world and that was the revelation of the luminosity of the presence of the Aeon Sophia.
It is, it was and is the most sacred experience possible to the human species. The initiates were masters in the use of psychoactive plants, including mushrooms and particularly the fungus of ergot, which is derived from wheat or barley. And so the wheat shock is the shock of that potion. It's the rush of the psychoactive potion that took them into a trance. And the act of beholding in that trance was called in Greek, Theoria. Theoria doesn't mean theory, not in the sense of the mystery schools, far from it. Theoria means divine beholding and in fact there is a pun on the word theo or thea which means divine in the word theoria. So theoria really means beholding the divine and what is the most divine sight in the world? It is the luminosity of the planet earth which is the naked body of the goddess Sophia.
Gnostic initiates in the mystery cells stood before this light. They encountered the organic light and they learned from it. And the term for learning by instruction from the light was called Mathesis or the divine Mathesis, divine instruction. So, there you are. Everything that I'm developing around this clue and extracting from this clue is firmly and clearly stated in the surviving materials. Remember I said it's both a verbal clue and a visual clue. Look again at the image beneath the image of the sheaf of cut wheat at Eleusis. There you see the goddess Demeter. She was the supreme guardian of the Eleusinian mysteries. She is a version or projection of the Earth Mother. There you see her in a ba relief entrusting Iachos, the child of the mysteries into the care of Kekrops who was the serpent tailed guardian of the Eleusinian temple lineage.
And note that Kekrops is making the gesture of silence with his right hand, finger to lips, and in the left hand he's holding the sheaf of cut wheat. Is that good enough? How much more do you want? How much more can you take? You want more? Then go to the link, “A Sheaf of Cut Wheat”, is an essay on metahistory.org, and there you'll find both text and talk. Coming now to the conclusion of this installment, I'll just scroll quickly down the tracking page, there you see an image of the hermetic gesture of silence which originated in the Mysteries. It's not to be confused with the notorious and much discussed signal of secrecy that is flashed sometimes by politicians and fashion models and pop stars.
Personally, my response to those pretentious fools and deluded narcissists out there in the world, in the popular media, in politics, and film, who think that they have some kind of secret, that they're part of some kind of secret, well, my response to them I would take directly out of Positively 4th Street, where Bob Dylan sang, “Do you take me for such a fool to think I'd make contact with the one who tries to hide what he don't know to begin with?”
So be warned and beware, and do not confound the ruse of secrecy with the gesture of silence. Now if you continue to scroll down the tracking page, you'll see that I've listed some of those fragmentary leaks about the mysteries that come from ancient documents and I have also cited a famous passage from the Golden Ass by Apuleius. You know it's a good test for people today if you meet someone who says they're spiritual. I'm so spiritual. Well ask them if they read “The Golden Ass”.
As I said, and Not in His Image, the Latin writer, Puleius, gives what is probably an authentic and reliable account of initiation into the mysteries in that novel. It contains this beautiful passage where the main character discloses the revelation of a sublime voice that addressed him at the moment of initiation. It doesn't speak of a light. You don't find that clue in Apeulius, but you find the disclosure of the identity of the source of that telluric luminosity.
“I am nature, the universal mother, mistress of all the elements, primordial child of time, sovereign of all things spiritual, queen of the dead, queen also of the immortals, the single manifestation of all gods and goddesses that are known to you on earth.”
Is that good enough? Is this voracious? Are we getting to proof here? Is this proof you can live with? Is this proof you're going to live out? Is this proof you're going to carry to others and to the world? There’s a big responsibility that comes with this truth. So but it’s a privilege and not a burden. It's not about service. It's about pleasure, the pleasure of knowing something so sublime. Citation below that one, cites “The Tripartite Tractate” from the Nag Hammadi. Now here's a rare instance of a disclosure of the properties of the light.
“The originator instructed those who search for higher seeing by means of the luminosity of that immaculate light”.
In other words, the light teaches, the light instructs, the luminosity of the light brings wisdom, it brings concrete and specific knowledge, not abstract knowledge. And so on it goes. So scrolling down, you find that I conclude with a reference to the Homeric hymn to Demeter. You know, the Latin orator Cicero, who was initiated at Eleusis, so the rumor goes, said, in the mysteries one learns more about nature than about the gods. And quote, well, doesn't that fit perfectly with what Apeulius says? The divine presence revealed to him or to his character in “The Golden Ass” declares itself as nature. What is the organic light? It is the light of the material luminosity that is the supernatural fountainhead of nature. The supernatural is beautiful. There is nothing evil or perverse in the supernatural. You can only know that first hand by the encounter with this light. You can believe it and accept it as a belief, but in order to really know it down into the cells of your body, you have to encounter this light naked and first-hand.
The encounter takes place, it happens, in a trance state due to the ingestion of psychoactive plants, which may be mushrooms of the psilocybe species, such as psilocybe cubensis, Mexicana, and it may also be a drink made from the fermented barley, that is the shock of the wheat. The Homeric hymn of Demeter discloses the origin of the mystery brew. She taught them the ministry of her rites and revealed to them her beautiful mysteries, which are impossible to transgress or pry into or divulge, for so great is one's awe of the gods that it halts the tongue.
Remember, the Greek word mysterion derives from the verb muen, which means to murmur or to talk through compressed lips. Finally, the hymn hints at the sacrament partaken in the goddess's rites. “The earth concealed the white barley according to the plan of Demeter, she of the beautiful feet”.
And there you have it, as the final point of verification in this evidence chain derived from the English meaning of the word Mandel. There you see, concluding the tracking page for this installment, another image of the wheat shock and that is wheat or barley infected with the fungus Claviceps purpurea, which is the basis of LSD and the main ingredient in the mystic brew at Eleusis, known as the Kikian.
So that's about it for now. Aha! I'd like to conclude, if you can bear with me, with reading one paragraph from, “A Sheaf of Cut Wheat”, which is chapter 16 in Not in His Image. So, listen closely to these words, reflect on all this, bring wonderment and sobriety to everything I say, to everything I have to tell you and teach you, and until the next time, may your attention be rewarded by the truth.
“The sheaf of cut wheat revealed to the Misté the true nature of their own cognitive activity. The human mind is removed from nature, cut cut from the ground, its natural source. Mind appears to be independent as if our perception of the world originated with us. The lesson of the Hierophant's final gesture was heightened by the spectacle of the rarian fields around Eleusis, full of grain rippling in the first light of day as the initiates emerged from the sanctuary. The greater mysteries were celebrated in autumn, just before the harvest. They saw the cut sheath in the hand of the Hierophant, and beyond it, the rippling fields of mature wheat sprouting from the earth. At that moment cilame the key illuminist insight, what they had come to know through instruction by the light. As the weed is given to us by Dmitr, so is our cognition of the natural world, the place where it grows. The moment they emerged from absorption in the organic light, the revelation intentionally given to the initiates was the certainty that our cognition of the external world is given externally through the power of the earth goddess Gaia rather than internally as we are want to believe. They realized where their cognition was actually grounded now that they had her mind.”
